1   Link   South Carolina Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers
NASW is the licensing organization for all social workers in the nation. The South Carolina chapter focuses on supporting the efforts of social workers in South Carolina, advocacy, legislation, and promoting social justice. The website has links to other social work-related social justice organizations and special interest resources.
2   Link   National Association for the Education of Young Children
The NAEYC is the accredits education programs that follow its Early Childhood Program Standards. The NAEYC’s vision is to provide all young children with developmentally appropriate and quality education programs. The website offers many resources including accredited programs, information about the Program Standards, their philosophy on the education of young children, and pointed information for groups such as teachers, families, higher education, students, and affiliate groups.
3   Link   Zero to Three organization
Zero to Three is a national, non-profit organization committed to “support the healthy development and well-being of infants, toddlers and their families.” Zero to Three seeks to influence parents, professionals and policy through providing educational resources and publications, training and information on policy-making. The website provides links to an enormous amount of inside, as well as outside educational resources for parents, professionals, and policy-makers.
4   Link   South Carolina Citizens’ Review Panel
Citizen’s Review Panals (CRP) are set up in each state to evaluate the effectiveness and success of Child Protective Services (CPS) within their state. The South Carolina CRP presents a report of recommendations to CPS each year and receives a response back about how CPS will take action based on the recommendations. The South Carolina CRP includes three regions (Lowcountry, Midlands, and Upstate) that work together to provide the best evaluation of CPS throughout the state. The website provides links to the projects implemented in each region, archived CRP recommendations and CPS responses, and information about how to volunteer or become part of the panel. The South Carolina CRP welcomes information and suggestions concerning CPS from the public.
5   Link   Family Support America organization
Family Support American’s mission is to provide the informational resources to parents that will aid in creating healthy and nurturing families. Resources cover topics including discipline, divorce, finding the right day care, and helping your child with his/her homework among many others. The website also provides links to other organizations concerning these topics.
6   Link   National Resource Center for Family-Centered Practice and Permanency Planning
The NRCFCPP’s mission is to support state and tribal social welfare programs to promote family-centered services that increase the well-being of children and their families. NRCFCPP provides on-site training to state and tribal social welfare agencies in numerous areas of their practice with families, including concurrent permanency planning, cultural competency with the Indian culture, home-based services to preserve families, and many more. Much of this information is also available on-line. The organization is also very active in advocacy and the website provides links to many pieces of legislation affecting social welfare and families. The site also offers statistics on several of these issues, some state-by-state. The NRCFCPP produces a newsletter, Permanency Planning Today, and weekly updates on social welfare issues, programs, and policy-making around the country.
7   Link   Southern Institute on Children and Families
The Southern Institute on Children and Families is a non-profit organization working to increase the likelihood that low-income families can meet their needs and especially the needs of their children. The Southern Institute carries out this mission through education and publications, building collaborative partnerships and coalitions with other groups in order to reach goals, improving employment stability in the lower-wage workforce in both private and public sectors, improving access to public benefits, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of public programs. The website provides insight into the organization and its programs, as well as numerous topical resources and links to other organizations.

Stanley Greenspan is creator of the DIR®/Floortime™ Model, which is a model applicable to human development, emotional and developmental challenges in infancy and early childhood, infant mental health and policy, and psychology of global interdependency and international collaboration. This site provides information concerning Stanley Greenspan’s life, accomplishments, and current work. It includes information about his online training courses and workshops, as well as his publications.
9   Link   National Technical Assistance Center for Children’s Mental Health
The National Technical Assistance Center for Children’s Mental Health is a division of the Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development. The National Technical Assistance Center’s mission is to help states, tribes, territories, and communities find and implement solutions that improve the well being of children and their families. The Center provides training, online resources and publications, and a number of activities in the hope of transforming mental health and substance abuse services delivery systems to better serve children and their families.
10   Link   Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration – National Mental Health Information Center – Center for Mental Health Services
This website provides information concerning the Child, Adolescent, and Family Branch (CAFB) of the Federal Center for Mental Health Services. The CAFB is committed to encouraging and guaranteeing that all children and families receive mental health services centered on the “community-based system of care.” The CAFB supports many initiatives and provides online information and publications, resources for parents and families, and related links.

The National Center for Children in Poverty (NCCP) is a non-partisan, public interest research organization affiliated with Columbia University. The NCCP uses research to inform policy and practice in order to make work pay and improve work supports, provide nurturing early learning environments for young children, and secure adequate health and mental health care for our nation’s families. The website provides information on the projects of the NCCP, access to an abundant amount of publications and topical information, state profiles concerning many different topics, and data tools.
